Lab Facilities

Application Development-Project Lab

In this lab, licensed versions of all the major program compilers, other front-end, back-end, scripting, design tools and research-oriented tools are available to the students for their regular practice sessions. This lab is utilized by B.Tech students for their micro projects, design projects, main projects and application software development lab.

This lab is configured with the following two facilities:

1. Data Analytics Facility:

This facility is incorporated in Application Development Lab and offers scalable Hadoop cluster nodes. The current configuration has a total installed capacity of 10 cluster nodes with one master and 9 slave cluster nodes, with an option to expand to 60 cluster nodes. This state-of-the-art lab facility supports the research activities and project development of the students.

2. Project Management Facility:

This facility was initiated in 2014, with the installation of IBM Rational’s Rose Suite. As the primary facility for software engineering, we provide tools for major phases of the software development life cycle, namely analysis phase, design phase and testing phase. Both students and faculty use it for planning various projects. Currently, the facility has 30 licensed machines with IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA) and IBM Rational Suite.

This lab hosts major lab courses such as SS lab (S5 CS), Compiler Design lab (S7 CS), Micro processor lab (S6 CS), SP lab (MG: S7 CS) and Computer Graphics Lab (MG: S8 CS). 

1. Web and Mobile Application Development Facility:

This facility provides a platform for Mobile Application Development using Android Studio and to provide skills for web application development.

Tools installed:       

1. Android Studio

2. Python Django

3. PHP Larvel

4. MariaDB

2. Campus Connect Facility:

This facility is set-up as part of INFOSYS’ Campus Connect program. This program shares with academia its mature technology training methods and other learning resource. 

Programming Language Lab

This lab is utilized by B.Tech students for Python lab (S1 CS), C programming lab (S2 CS) and Data Structures (S3 CS). 

Network Programming Lab

This lab is utilized by B.Tech students for their Network Programming Lab (S7 CSE), FOSS Lab (S4). This lab is configured with the following two facilities:

1. Campus Connect Facility:

This facility is set-up as part of INFOSYS’ Campus Connect program. This program shares with academia its mature technology training methods and other learning resources.

2. CCNA based Networking Facility:

The purpose of establishing this facility is:

1. To impart basic knowledge on computer networks using simulation tool - Packet Tracer.

2. Analyze the working of OSI layers and networking devices.

Research Laboratories

Department has a diverse group of motivated researchers with a focus on emerging areas such as Processor & Architecture Study, Image Processing, Data Analytics, Network Security, Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Distributed Algorithms, Nature Inspired algorithms, Image Segmentation, Neural Networks etc. 

Central Computing Facility

Central Computing Facility is the state of the art lab in the department and was established to provide a computing facility for all staff and students of the college. This lab is often used to host events, like workshops and tutorials, organized by the department.

This lab is equipped with powerful server machines which host several server applications that support various day to day activities of the college and the department. Applications hosted by this lab include college library management system, Adi Shankara Mail Server, college website, college Moodle server etc.
