An introductory class on mini project was taken in September 2012 for the S6 students by final IETE members. Information was given on the various criteria to be taken into consideration while selecting topics for mini projects. Illustration of the same with examples was very much impressive. An overview of the PCB design method and way of approach was also discussed in the session.

Dr.Roy.P.Paily, Professor, Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati delivered a guest lecture to about 120 postgraduate and undergraduate students and faculty from the Electronics and Communication and Applied Electronics Departments on 24th September 2012 (1 – 4 P.M). The topic was ‘VLSI Technology and Possible Future Pathways’ and was very educative to the students.

IETE Students Forum, ASIET also arranged for a Guest Lecture on Mobile Communication on 8th April 2013 (2-30 P.M – 4-30 P.M). The speaker Mr.Kamalasanan.P.K , the Senior Sub Divisional  Engineer in BSNL Mobile Services who had an experience of more than 20 years in Telecommunication and switching field and played a key role for implementing Mobile Number Portability in Kerala BSNL Network delivered a very interesting and impressive lecture to the students and faculty. Thus the lectures and programmes organised by the IETE forum provided a very valuable guidance to the budding engineering students to select appropriate and fascinating topics for their mini projects

            SEMINAR ON VLSI TECHNOLOGY AND POSSIBLE FUTURE PATHWAYS

Workshop on Raspberry pi

A three day workshop on Raspberry pi, organised by IETE Students Forum in association with Bharath Organisation for Research and Development. This workshop is specifically designed to encourage and enlighten students about the functioning of a mini-computer and to exploit its computational powers to the limit.this will be helpful in planning project activities during the upcoming part of the course.

Talk on Basic Signal and Image Processing:theoretic concepts in association with IETE  Student Forum.It Gives us an overview of Signal Processsing in general and Image Processing,in particular.It also introduces tools used in Image Processing.This talk will be helpful for final and pre-final year students who are about to start their projects. 


Talk on VLSI technology and possible future pathways

The Department of ECE, ASIET have organised a talk by Dr.Roy P Paily; Professor,(Dept of EEE,IIT Guwahati) on the topic VLSI technology and possible future pathways,followed by an interactive session.The talk was held on September 24,2012 at 10 am, with approximately 120 Post-graduate and graduate students and faculty from ECE and Applied Electronics Departments.


ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

Careerfit 360 pvt.Ltd conducted an orientation programme for the students of ECE department 2017-2020 batch.The programme was held on 31st July and 1st August.Talks on different topics were conducted and discussions on entrepreneurship by Mr.Anup Narayanan,CISA Founder and CEO First legion Ms.Poornima Ramachandran


GUEST LECTURE TALK

The Department of ECE, ASIET, in association with IEEE have Organised a General Talk on “The Importance of Online Courses” on 29th September 2016.The talk was delivered by Dr Neelakandan P C and covered a time span of 1 hour .The main aim of the talk was to understand the importance of online courses, and current trends in Engineering.


WORKSHOP ON PCB DESIGN

The Department of ECE, ASIET under IEI society have organised a Hands-on Workshop on PCB design and Fabrication on 12th February 2016 for the registered students of IEI, which included all the aspects of PCB fabrication such as Schematic drawing, PCB Layout, Printing, Etching and soldering in order to impart the complete knowledge of basic PCB Design to the students.
