Female Infertility Problem using predictive analytics

Brief Overview

With the availability of medical data for large number of patients in hospitals, early detection of diseases has been made easier in the recent past. Conditions like Infertility which are hard to detect or diagnose can be now diagnosed with greater precision with the help of predictive modeling. One of the key challenges for early detection and timely treatment is in identifying and recording key variables that contribute to specific variance of infertility. In this paper, we consider 26 variables and identify relevant variables for early detection of 8 variant classes of female infertility. We compared various techniques and determined that the Random forest is the best method offerings 88% of accuracy for a reasonably large hospital dataset of size 965. We are currently exploring methods to further improve the performance of the analytics algorithm. In future, we would like to develop a doctor-friendly application to be deployed in hospitals.

Brief Overview:

This project aims to develop an electronic voting system--an apparatus to register voters, an apparatus to cast votes from a list of candidates, an mechanism to transport the ballot papers from polling booths to counting centres, an apparatus to allow a voter to confirm that his vote was cast correctly, and an apparatus to validate the votes cast in case of a future dispute. We have currently completed phase 1 of the project: exploring options for the apparatus, method to communicate vote from polling booth to counting centre. The next phase is to construct a hardware device to record multi-mode biometric identification of voters and voter registration.

Current status: Ongoing/Partially completed. Consultations for constructing hardware component in progress.

Brief Overview:

This project aims to develop a bartering-based agri-commodity trading solution to enable direct transactions between farmers/producers and retail consumers. Technically, this realworld problem is a combination of travelling sales man problem, vehicle routing problem, knapsack problem; at least in NP. A background engine was developed in the first phase(in BITS, PIlani, Pilani campus as part of PG projects course). A user front end was developed next. This project is currently kept on hold due to ambiguity in regulatory framework, especially the reorganisation of sales via mandis. This project, once deployed on the field, shall be self-sustaining, with incomecoming from a small margin collected during the transactions in the cash segment.

Brief Overview:

This project proposed a transport solution to address the needs of regular commuters. The core idea was to optimise vehicle usage of daily commuters like office goers, school/college students, etc. A mobile based solution was developed that used GPS location and on-device camera for tracking/recording, emergency contact to employer/Principal, child tracking for parents. The project has been halted in pre-production phase awaiting for suitable customers for the solution.

Brief Overview

In this work, we proposed a drone based solution to identify and track missing/lost persons in a crowded place like festivals, cultural shows, etc. Cameras attached to drones would capture individual person's faces, match with the photos of missing persons, and intimate to the police/operators about the location of the person once found. Another usecase of this work was to identify criminals in crowded places. Face recognition phase was completed. A simple sweeping algorithm to cover every inch of a pre-defined rectangular field was completed. Camera-mounted light drones were not deployed due to fnding limitations. Simulation of the drones in motion was not completed due to hardware limitations.

Current status: Partially completed. Project currently put on hold, awaiting for funding.

Student Performance montitoring system: ASPARE

Funding status: self funded

Brief overview:

This ongoing project allows a faculty member to records marks of evaluation components and assess the progress of course towards meeting pre-defined course outcomes in  outcome based education paradigm. The first leg shal involve collection of marks from individual faculty members, measuring the outcomes and assessing the gaps in attainment. The project automates the computational aspect so that the corresponding faculty can focus on in-depth analysis required to guage the attainment levels. In a later phase, computation of PO from individual COs, assessment of PO gaps and other relevant comutations shall be included.

Current status: Partially completed. Computation of COs from marks of a test component is completed.
