       Joined Unit Trust of India, the pioneer in Indian Mutual Fund Industry, in June 1992 in the Officer Grade A. Posted to Cochin branch and got promoted to Officer Grade B in May 1999. Undergone several training programmes in Finance & Marketing areas from UTI Institute of Capital markets, Mumbai (now known as Indian Institute of Capital Markets)  Assumed charge as Chief Manager at Cochin branch in March 2003 and availed Voluntary Separation Scheme w.e.f. 1st October 2003. Responsibilities included


Ø  Credit Rating of Debt Instruments

Ø  Equip the sales force of 1300 agents in 4 districts with 3 Chief Representatives and 1 Chief Agent to the changes in the Organisation and Mutual Fund Industry.

Ø  Overseeing local level service operations of UTI Schemes

Ø  Promoting  clear cut understanding between Mutual Fund schemes and Government owned schemes

Ø  Responsible for marketing plan and strategy for the local market in view of the annual target.

Ø  Personal investment planning for retail unitholders

Ø  Customer Relationship Manager for HNI/Institution/Retail segment in the capacity of Grade A Officer, Grade B Officer and also as the head of the local unit

Ø  Undertaken research studies related to customer behavior for internal use

Ø  Trainer for AMFI certification and also for regular training to sales force and investor education.


b). Market and Trade Analyst, Spices Board, Cochin (Aug 1989-Jun1992)


     Joined Spices Board, the central government agency under the Ministry of Commerce for promoting spice exports in 1989 in the Officer cadre. Placed in the Marketing Department for carrying out Market Research with the objective of increasing spice exports; Resigned for better prospects in 1992. Responsibilities included


Ø Laison with Embassies across the globe for information on spice market in different countries

Ø Participated in herbal spices market research

Ø Participated in Value added spice products research

Ø Proposed Vanilla cultivation commercially after market study

Ø Study on Trade & Non-trade barriers to spices exports


c). Jr. Executive, Marketing, Matsyafed, Kuruvankonam, Trivandrum (Mar 1987-Aug 1989)


            Joined this apex federation of fisheries co-operative societies of the Kerala State,  in 1987 in the Marketing Department. Placed in the Marketing department for preparing project reports for social and commercial upliftment of the fishery villages.  Responsibilities included


Ø  Project report preparation/evaluation

Ø  Evolving the socio-economic development plans for fisheries sector

Ø  Monitoring performance of ongoing projects

Ø  Responsible for development of Market Information System of the Federation for formulating Marketing Plans for the entire State

More than half a dozen project reports of that period are commercially operated even now by Matsyafed.


d). Project Officer, Institute of Social Concern, Trichur (Nov 1986-Feb 1987)


 An assignment was picked up in this voluntary organisation run by CMI priests to familiarise about project report preparation and evaluation report preparation for both social and commercial purposes.


e). Chief Executive Officer, La Bella Advertising Associates, Cochin (Feb 1985- Aug 1986). Responsibilities included
